NFL Week 2 Opening Lines

Here are William Hill’s opening point spreads for Week 2 of the NFL season. The LVH SuperBook posted Week 2 lines last Tuesday. Those numbers are presented here as well.
Thursday, September, 12
Jets at Pats (-12.5)
New England squeaked by the Bills with a last-minute field goal in Buffalo, failing to cover the 9.5-point spread. The Jets, a 3.5-point home dog, upset Tampa Bay, 18-17. The Wynn opened the Pats -11.5 and moved to 12 minutes after.
LVH early line: -12.5
Sunday, September 15
Chargers at Eagles (-6.5)
Both of these teams play on Monday. San Diego is a 4.5-point home dog vs. Houston, Philly is getting a field goal-plus in Washington.
LVH early line: -6.5
Browns at Ravens (-6.5)
Baltimore benefits from some extra days rest, coming off Thursday night’s loss in Denver. Cleveland looked rather inept as a short home favorite in a 23-10 loss to Miami. The Ravens were 11.5-point favorites at home against Cleveland in Week 4 last season. That’s a pretty big swing
LVH early line: -9.5
Dolphins at Colts (-3)
Indy barely held on to beat Oakland, failing to get the cash at home while laying 11, the biggest number of the day. Although next week's opponent is tougher, the task of covering a field goal may actually be easier. The Wynn opened with a shorter number, Colts -2.5.
LVH early line: -3
Panthers (-3) at Bills
Carolina lost and couldn’t cover a field goal-plus at home vs. Seattle, the Seahawks winning a 12-7 slugfest. Buffalo was better than most anticipated, taking New England to the wire.
LVH early line: Panthers -3
Rams at Falcons (-7)
The Wynn opened this game at 6.5, but Atlanta, losers in New Orleans, immediately took action at that price. St. Louis won but didn’t cover in a 27-24 win at home over Arizona.
LVH early line: -5.5
Redskins at Packers (-6.5)
Green Bay fell short – of the win and the cash (thanks to a late field goal) – in its 34-28 loss in San Fran. Washington is a 3-point favorite tonight against Philly.
LVH early line: -6.5
Titans at Texans (-9)
Expectations are high in Houston this season, and tonight is the Texans' first test. Tennessee upset Pitt for the second straight season on Sunday.
LVH early line: -9.5
Cowboys at Chiefs (-1)
The steamrolling of the Jaguars in Jacksonville was convincing enough for William Hill to make K.C. the favorite, even before any results of Dallas’ game against the Cowboys were known.
LVH early line: pick 'em
Vikings at Bears (-6)
It’s the second consecutive road division game for Minny, which watched Detroit pull away for the win and the money on Sunday. Chicago pushed in a 3-point home win vs. the tough Bengals.
LVH early line:-6
Saints (-3/-120) at Bucs
New Orleans got the win and the cash in Sean Payton’s return, and Tampa Bay lost to what’s perceived to be a lowly Jets club. This meeting in Tampa last season provided some fireworks, the Saints prevailing as a 1-point fave in a 35-28 shootout.
LVH early line: Saints -2.5
Lions (-1) at Cardinals
The Wynn opened this game the other way, with Arizona laying the point. Both teams were profitable Sunday, Detroit in its home win against Minnesota, the Cards in a road loss to the Rams.
LVH early line: Lions -3 (even)
Jaguars at Raiders (-5.5)
Oakland was game in Indy; Jacksonville never had a chance at home against K.C. Getting this many points against the Raiders is one indication of how little respect there is for the Jags right now.
LVH early line: -3 (even)
Broncos (-4.5) at Giants
This number for the Manning Bowl was hung by William Hill just as the Giants’ game in Dallas was starting. Denver sure looked good Thursday against Baltimore, but this is a big number to be laying on the road.
LVH early line: Broncos -3
49ers at Seahawks (-3/-120)
San Fran was embarrassed in this spot last season, losing 42-13 in Week 16. Seattle was -2.5 in that game.
LVH early line: -3 (even)
Monday, September 16
Steelers at Bengals (-6.5)
Pittsburgh is certainly in the conversation for "most disappointing performance of Week 1" and finds itself nearly touchdown underdogs in Cincy next Monday night.
