The Spread Zone Has a Fan

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for being the first official fan - other than my cousin Nosh Nosh - at The Spread Zone.  For a while, the only traffic we were getting was from misguided porn heads and fatties looking for new and exciting things to pile onto their sandwiches. We cautioned both groups that spooning leads to forking, so use condiments. You know what I mean? I know you do.

Although we appreciated visits from lost cyber-freaks and encouraged them to spread the word while they spread their legs, diseases, and Best Foods whatever, we were also hoping to tap into a different market. Now we have. With the success of our picks this week we have received thousands of visits - which I can now say because we just broke 1,000 - and a total of three comments.

So thank you, Anonymous - and cousin Nosh Nosh - for your interest and support. If we had funding, a printer, and any artistic talent whatsoever, we would send you both a t-shirt and a mug.

That being said, let me address the request by Anonymous that Marco and I get our picks in earlier by saying two things:

1. There is nothing that would make us happier. Seriously. Do you think we enjoy agonizing over every single game, flip-flopping several times a day, rolling dice, doing Voodoo, calling our astrologer, or even asking my two year-old daughter if she thinks a Dolphin could beat a Pirate?

This crazy-making indecisiveness then carries over into the rest of our lives making it impossible to decide what to eat - I'll have chick-, no fish, no wait, chicken for sure, what kind of sauce are we talking about - what to wear, or even whether we need to shit or piss when the time comes.
This is the unbearable dance of every committed gambler. And we are committed.

2. That being said, if you've read any of our early discussions, you'll know that Marco and I believe  that in order to be a successful gambler you must follow an amorphously structured set of flexibly rigid guidelines. Please see our August posts for more information on Important Gambling Tips.

Although Marco and I do not consider ourselves experts, with our impressive 11-4 ATS record this week was more than enough to win our weekly pool without even worrying about the Monday night game. Also, coupled with our pedestrian 8-8 effort in Week 1, our 19-12 ATS record is as good as it gets on the Internet right now. Knowing how coins flip, dice roll, astrologers waffle, and two year-old's minds change, we just might be the last people you want to take advice from next week.

If, however, you still believe in us as much as we believe in ourselves - which is a lot - become The Spread Zone's first follower. For our part, we'll endeavor to get our picks in earlier.

Peace out fellow degenerate,

Vinny and Marco
