Friday Five Contest Update and So Much More

In the second week of our Texas Todd First Annual TSZ Friday Five I Wish I'd Never Sent Vinny and Marco My Hard Earned Money Contest, we're starting to get a little separation at the top. Ironically, although our overall stats last week earned us a record breaking 12-1-1 ATS, the 1 loss was our top confidence pick and the tie was on the list, too, so we still lost ground to ringers like Archie who managed to earn 13 of a possible 15 points, catapulting him into a first place tie with Maneesh and Miles with a total of 21/30 points. Well played, gentlemen. Well played.

Below is a complete list of the current rankings and with six weeks left in the 2013-14 season, there are 90 points left to earn, so everyone is still in this thing. No one has gone 5-0 yet, but I have a feeling a couple of you have that kind of week up your sleeve. Who knows, maybe by Week 17 we'll have an NFL handicapper worth following next year.

For those of you who are not Insiders and are wondering what the heck I'm talking about, the co-founders of The Spread Zone (Marco and I), driven by the guilt and shame that comes with charging people for sucking, started a Friday Five contest where our members get to compete against our picks until the end of the NFL season. As a result, we have a wide-variety of freelance experts working remotely for us and kicking our asses long distance. I secretly hoped the contest would illuminate how challenging making confidence picks can be, but instead I'm starting to feel like Tracy Ullman watching 20+ years of The Simpsons from a cozy, little corner in the Hollywood career graveyard.

If you would like to see the complete list of Friday Five picks for Week 11 of the NFL season, please donate a cup of coffee using the button to the right and shoot us an e-mail at vinnyandmarco@thespreadzone.com.

OR...and this is a big or that you should pay close attention...you can just come back tomorrow and read the post where I put them all up here for free. Coffee donations, however, are always appreciated and used to fuel the semi-creative fires of The Spread Zone. Below are the current standings will all of the NFL handicapping prospects you might want to keep an eye on for the 2014 Sports Gambling Blog Draft.

Happy Betting,

Vinny and Marco

PS When I have time, I'm going to try to pick a game or two from other sports to see how they track over time. We've sucked so badly at football this year, why not branch out a little, right?

NHL: San Jose Sharks (-175) over the Edmonton Oilers. I know - rocket science, right? The Sharks are coming off a hard-fought OT win over Vancouver last night where they trailed until the final minutes of the third period when. Edmonton has a -30 goal differential to San Jose's +24. I'd recommend the SJ -1.5 if this weren't a back-to-back for the. San Jose just broke a losing streak and see them building momentum again.

This next one's for you Leremy Jin - if that is your real name.

NBA: Charlotte Bobcats @ Cleveland Caveliers: The Bobcats are one of the early surprises in the NBA this season, currently ranked 4th in points allowed. The Cavs have Mike Brown back, but there defense isn't where it should be yet. Fortunately, neither is the Bobcat offense (29th in the league). I'm recommending the UNDER 189 here.
