In my case, I actually feel like there's good news, better news, and the best news of all. That's the beauty of sports, gambling, thoughts, feelings, and life in general - they are all transient, impermanent, fleeting episodes preceded by many and followed (hopefully) by even more.

The good news is I had way more fun doing yesterday's write-up than I had watching Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals last night. I wasn't the least disappointed in backing the wrong team, but it felt very deflating waiting all day for the match-up, imagining the possibilities, hoping for the one that didn't happen, only to have it all extinguished half way through the second quarter. To be honest, I switched to ESPN Monday Night baseball during a third quarter time out.

The better news, in my opinion, is that with all the talk on sports radio and the Internet about the NBA being fixed and that there was no way Indiana was going to be allowed to face another small market team in the Finals, the referees had absolutely nothing to do with the Pacers losing. I'm pretty sure it wasn't their quick hands and lazy passes that caused 16 first half turnovers. Sloppy play does not win championship appearances. I'll bet Roy Hibbert wishes he hadn't spent all his vacation money on language lessons now.

The best news of all - no more talk about the Miami Caveliers, about LeBron James carrying another talent-less team on his shoulders. Enough already. Chris Bosh struggled early but showed up late, Dwyane Wade was a fuel injected monster - and by fuel injected I mean they shot some ungodly amount of something strong into his knee - and Ray Allen played like the third future Hall of Famer that he is, scoring 10 points off the bench with three early treys that helped put some distance between the Heat and the Pacers. This is the team they built, the team that won 27 in a row this season, and the team that is heading back to the NBA Finals for the third consecutive year to play the San Antonio Spurs.

                         The Big Three
Did the OG Big Three Make Excuses? Probably.

Speaking of which, the San Antonio Spurs have already been waiting a long time to see which team would come out of the East. Good money says Gregg Popavich was scouting and preparing for the Miami Heat, and better money says Pop has an outstanding record given six weeks to prepare for a team. More importantly, if you're worried about rust in the Alamo, fear not. For the past nine days, the San Antonio Spurs have been watching back-to-back-to-back-to-back-ad-infinitum episodes of "The Fundamentals With Coach B." They will be ready.

If you're neither a fan of the Miami Heat nor the San Antonio Spurs, the above video will help you decide which team to root for in the Finals.

Go Spurs,

Vinny and Marco

KYLE'S CORNER:
What a weird outcome in the hockey game. I can't believe Pittsburgh got blown out at home being a -200 favorite. Wow. Brutal! I'm speechless - which is rare. On the plus side I think I've turned the corner and am back on track in MLB. Let's not dwell in the past, but rather jump to today's action. No hockey today, but there's always plenty of baseball.
