WNBA Picks: Seattle Spark vs Phoenix Mercury - 6/3/14

NBA Playoff Record: 42-39-1 ATS

NHL Playoff Record: 4-1-1

MLB Record: 2-5

Man, I can't wait until the NHL and NBA playoffs resume, because we kind of suck at picking baseball games. No - that's not going to stop us, but much like our two-time TSZ contest winner Manny takes his hat off to those who bet on hockey, we tip our caps to baseball bettors. Speaking of Manny, for those of you who solicited (and received) his input during the NFL playoffs, I believe we may have him on board as our World Cup Wizard. Let's face it - soccer's just another word for football, and Manny ruled our NFL Friday Five Contest from start to finish.

Speaking of Manny and the World Cup, our friends at 1Vice are still offering free entry into their $2000 tournament plus 150% free play with deposits of $250 or more. Just click on the link to the right, check out the contest rules and guidelines on their site, and join the fun.

Speaking of Manny and the World Cup and $2000 contests, I think we might broaden our horizons today by taking a stab at the WNBA. I know what you're thinking, "What? You can bet on the WNBA?" Yes, you can, and if ever there were a market to corner in the sports betting world, it would be that one. Thanks to the Minnesota Lynx playoff run, we were able to recoup some of our early season NFL losses (both pride and money) last year. Let's take a look at today's action.

WNBA

Seattle Storm @ Phoenix Mercury: We're going with the UNDER 148. Although the Mercury score a ton of points, the Spark have been relatively anemic early on this year. Plus, betting on Road teams where the first half total is greater than 65.5 after going under the total by 30 or more points total in their last three games and playing division opponents have gone 107-57 since 1997. ( 65.2% | 44.3 units ). We like the total to stay low for the whole game.

MLB - We're not quitting

Toronto Blue Jays @ DETROIT TIGERS - Under 9 runs: This total seems high with Anibal Sanchez on the mound and Hutchison with potential CG stuff on the other side (although he is prone to disaster, too). We'll roll with a low-scoring affair here tonight.

May the Spreads Be With You,

Vinny and Marco
