NBA Playoff Pick-a-thon Day 44: Grant Hill Retires, Signs Contract With the Heat

POST-SEASON RECORD TO DATE: 48-28 ATS

CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS: 5-5 ATS

KYLE'S NHL PICKS TO DATE: 49-30-1

KYLE'S MLB PICKS TO DATE: 137-102-7

After 19 seasons and two separate careers in the NBA - one marked with limitless potential and heart-breaking injuries the other with inspiration and veteran leadership - former NCAA Duke Blue Devil champion Grant Hill has decided to turn in his Clippers jersey, hang up his sneakers...

...and buy himself a suit to join the Miami Heat for Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Say whaaaaat?

Are you surprised by this intriguing piece of fiction? Would it not make perfect sense to see Hill sitting court side beside former college star and title-seeker, Juwan Howard? The Michigan Man turned Michelin Man thinks so, telling reporters after the Heat's Game 6 loss in Indiana, "We need Grant more than you know. People don't think I have value on this team because I'm 40, I'm injured all the time, and I never play," explained an exhausted looking Howard, "but at halftime of Game 5, I was the one who yelled at my teammates about effort, hustle, and heart. You saw how they came out in the second half. That was me. Unfortunately, I also put out a disk in my back when I emphatically slammed one of the towels onto the floor. Now we need Grant's leadership in case we fall behind again in Game 7."

Asked the same question about playing with Howard, Hill replied, "I've just always wanted to play with my dad."

Enjoy your Sundays, everyone. Tune back in tomorrow for our Game 7 ATS pick.

The misery continues. How do the Los Angeles Angels lose to the Houston Astros? How does the highest scoring NHL team get shutout in their home opener when they outplayed and out-chanced their opposition the whole game?  Just stupid bad luck, I suppose. Hopefully Sunday will be the slump-breaker for this cold spell.
