World Cup: 6-10 Winners and Totals
My introduction to and education in the world of soccer came fast and furious Sunday morning when what appeared to be solid draw between the Swiss and Ecuador heading into the last 20 seconds of stoppage time turned into a 2-1 Switzerland. What happened to being neutral? Assholes. After that, France went and scored a garbage goal late and Bosnia followed suit, turning a potential 3-0 day into our first World Cup O-fer. And last but not least, although the Spurs mercifully ended the Heat dynasty, we had sadly taken the points and the Heat, with the UNDER as our only cash of the day. Monday can't come soon enough to TSZ.
Germany vs Portugal: With an entertaining match surely on the cards, odds of +120 seem extremely generous on over 2.5 goals being scored, in a bet that would have paid out in three of Portugal’s last four and a convincing 35 of Germany’s last 42. Personally, I'm partial to Portugal because I honeymooned there. Meanwhile - or years before that - my first love was a German girl who broke my heart. As a result of said biased conflict, we're staying away from a real prediction and rolling with...
Prediction: OVER 2.5 Goals
Iran vs Nigeria: In the battle of two places I've never thought, "Man I'd sure like to visit..." we'll roll with a low-scoring DRAW
Prediction: UNDER 2.5 goals
Ghana vs United States: The U.S. are slight underdogs in this match-up, and in what should really be a toss-up game we like those odds because - well, we're American, Marco's in town, and we played this game sixteen times on his Nintendo 64 and the U.S. won a convincing 15 of those times. You can't argue with a trend like that.
Prediction: U.S. to win 2-1
May the Spreads Be With You All,
Vinny and Marco
