The World Cup kicks off in less than a week, and our friends at 1Vice are running their annual World Cup Contest where the winner takes home $2,000 plus $25 per contestant entry. Let's face it, if you know anything about the other football, it's probably money in the bank when you're going up against a bunch of us Americans...said the very secret American soccer fan.

NBA
SAN ANTONIO SPURS (-4.5) over Miami Heat: Yes, I can't stand Miami and I'm rooting for the Spurs, but the reason we're going with San Antonio is not personal but rather the large line they're laying for a Game 1 of the NBA Finals. This is the two-time defending NBA champs. This is the four-time MVP winner. This is a less than 100% Tony Parker, and yet the Heat are getting almost 5 points. Sounds too good to be true, so it probably is. The numbers are as such - the favorite has covered 6 of the last 7 Game 1's in the NBA Finals (exception was last year's Spurs), plus the Spurs have been absolutely destroying teams at home this post-season and are on a 7-0 ATS run in San Antonio. Lay the small chalk and take the UNDER 198.5. Both are our official picks.
MLB
Oakland A's @ NEW YORK YANKEES UNDER 7.5 runs: With the Yankees struggling against lefties this season (losing their last 4) and the UNDER going 5-1 in their last 6 against southpaws AND Tanaka on the mound for the Yankees - the UNDER looks golden.
Toronto Blue Jays @ DETROIT TIGERS UNDER 9: With the UNDER going 9-1 in J.A. Happ's last 10 games and Verlander on the hill for Detroit - even a day game can't steer us away from the UNDER.
*We'll also take Detroit here to avoid the sweep.
WNBA
San Antonio Stars (+3.5) over NEW YORK LIBERTY: The Stars have had the tougher schedule thus far and should do enough to stay with the Liberty on the road. The UNDER looks attractive too with N.Y.'s defense and their anemic offense.
May the Spreads Be With You,
